Dino began his formal musical education at Mohawk College of Applied Arts in Hamilton Ontario, where he began compositional studies in both classical and jazz idioms with Michael Malone (Lighthouse). After completing the program he traveled to McGill University in Montreal, where he studied classical orchestration and jazz big band arranging.
