In Ice Breaking Binaural, we take the listener to the edge of a frozen old English woodland and into a place of intense nature derived impacts, cracks, breaks and splinters; this is the sound of Ice up close and captured in detailed binaural stereo with incredible little DPA microphones. Hear the sound of a frozen woodland stream as is breaks and splits into tiny fragments, the squeak and build of tension before breaking, hollow cracks and impacts and the release of energy up close as the ice gives way and falls into the natural stream below. Sunrise Birdsong Ambience [BRPS01]
This started many years ago when I began to venture into old English woodland spaces to witness the awakening of nature in the early morning. A truly special time. Sunrise Birdsong is a flavour of this, and the first of many early morning nature soundscape recordings I have in my catalog. The aim of my recording trips has always been to capture the sounds of nature without machines or humans. This library is a good example of this, as there is light breeze, twittering, chirping, hooting and flapping from the heart of the woodlands I visited. Each track is recorded from a different location and time, so as to capture a different flavour of birdsong. We move from sparse and spacious to the trickle of a woodland stream, through to a very full dawn chorus soundscape.
