Squingy was introduced to music at a young age through his father, Wrighty, a sound system owner active in the local scene. He began DJing at school, later buying his own equipment to practise at home. Frustrated by limited opportunities for young artists, he founded Suspect Ent in 2004. The label’s Under Surveillance mixtapes gained major street buzz, leading to Squingy’s solo CD/DVD Wrighty’s First Son, which sold over 5,000 copies independently.
