select frame as thumbnail

how about that: selecting frame as thumbnail, either specified as number when editing or from the clip preview?

You can change the thumbnail for your clips by selecting them on your MyPond > Uploads page and choosing "change thumbnail" from the dropdown at the bottom. You'll then be able to select from up to 10 thumbnails that are extracted at 1-second intervals from the clip.

For the moment, alternate thumbnails are only available for clips that were uploaded recently. We'll be going through the collection to fix any older clips' thumbnails soon. If you have clips that need new thumbnails, drop us a line and we'll put them on the list of clips to update.

Usually I select a thumbnail not for a group of clips but for one clip.

a. would it be possible to have an option to select thumbnail from 10 stills in clip's editing window (as is now in "Uploads" => "for all selected clips:" => "still frame offset" => "Execute")?

b. I think in the current still thumbnail selecttion window texts 'All' should be replaced by '1s', '2s', 3s', ... '9s', '10s'. Or I missunderstood something?

c. selection should be the 'radio' check boxes and only one could be selected. Or there is some hint I do not know? I tried to select 6 checkboxes and pressed 'Submit'. But which still image from these 6 selected was choosen as a thumbnail?

a. - works OK

b.1. - works OK on clips with 'Offline' status. I think instead of 'Now' there should be '1s' because 'Now' is currently selected first frame from the clip.

b.2. - for 'Online' clips does not work and here is only one option to select from: 'Now' (e.g. clips: 61356, 61936).

The 10 preview frames thing was introduced not very long ago so f.ex 61356 has only one icon. Well it has three still frames but these are watermarked.

Eventually we'll have a regenerate previews thing.

Now could only be 1s if one has not changed the frame. If you set 5s as frame it makes no sense any longer. Perhaps I should dim the background color or something to make it clearer first icon is different?

Dimming background of selected thumbnail frame cell is a very good idea.

a. Would it be possible to arrange still frames vertically and increase their size? Now practically it is not possible to check if quality of selected frame will be OK.

b. Why '1s' frame is missing? I suggest to name frames 0s, 1s, 2s, ..., 8s, 9s with frame '0s' selected by default (with dimmed background). If background of selected frame will be dimmed then it is not necessary to have the 'Now' frame at all.

a. We use the same form for batch use too, that is fixing preview icons for >1 clip at once and than that would be less than optimal. Instead i did a quick icon zoom if you mouseover. Is that ok?

b. Because when frames are extracted, they start at offset 1s. So on a clip where you haven't altered the preview, the very first one (present one) is 1s. I figured that if you change the preview, storing an extra 1s frame is needless. (Tom thinks i'm nuts with that reasoning...)

Note: I've changed the mouseover preview code a bit too (mouse over search results or cart for example). Please report any errors. It is more based on YUI now so it should be more stable and hopefully some bugs are gone.
