Here is a link to a movie made with the camera.
Man, I would sell all my Nikon gear and a lung to get this one.

And a blog with behind the scenes views using the camera.

If they can do this with a still camera, I have to think that a dedicated video camera has to be on its way. Maybe RED has some competition.

Yup, looks like a real winner and it's a little less than the original 5D that I bought a couple years ago. Reviews say that it really gives the XH-A1 a run for the money so Canon has got to make a big improvement in their video line just to compete with their self. I'll give it a few months and I'm sure I'll be upgrading to the new 5D for digital and also as a perfect backup to the HX-A1. Anyone looking for a great used Canon 5D?

Wow! That will really make an impact as it allows for the lenses to be put to great use. I have been looking at various attachments to hook up to my vid cam to make use of the Canon lenses arsenal I have. Now I won't have to worry about that. This is really cool. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi Jake,
Good to hear from you again, after your Ike isolation. I ordered a Canon 5D Mkll last week, hopefully will get it in November.

Not sure if you know it, that I'm a Nikon owner but this new Canon was too much temptation. Feel like screaming to Nikon WAKE UP!!

Same here. I've only owned Nikon. The only reason I don't order it now is I would have to buy all new lenses.
But, I'm sure thats what you're doing now....

Whoa thats cool... that DOF is real too? It looks kind of simulated in some parts. But it looks great. I have been experimenting with creating footage with a still camera. They are very fast pace because they were shot on continuous mode. I was thinking though, couldn't you somehow plug it directly into a computer and capture the data directly to the computer? SO that it is real time... ?? Does anyone know how to do this?

Yes, this camera captures at 30fps for 13 minutes of 1080 HD footage.
I think it can also do SD for about 30 minutes or so.
The DOF is because it's a full size sensor (35mm) using regular 35mm lenses.
I'm sure its the same as the Red. Dosen't that camera have one 35mm size sensor?
Cool!
