Keyword questions.

I'm new here, but I have a boat-load of footage to upload so I want to make sure I understand the process.
1. It says to stay under 25 keywords, or you'll lose ranking in the search results. So if I have a two-word keyword, something like "tin foil", will that be counted as two or one? I'm separating words with commas.
2. Does one form of a word cover all other forms. For example, would the single keyword "run" take care of all the words like "running", "runs", "runner", etc.?
3. This is a dumb question, but I assume the 25 word limit includes the top five?
4. What does "Place" refer to on the tagging page? Are you looking for an answer like "the park", or the town/region that the clip was shot in?
Thanks.

Hi!
1. two-word keyword counts as one and the same for double word like 'sea-life'
2. I guess 'run', 'running', 'runs', 'runner' all are different - you can try to do a search for any single word and compare results
3. I think that 'top 5' are in addition to 25 secondary keywords and duplicates will be removed
4. I always put the place where clip was shot

Where are the rules of losing ranking in the search results. I usually have a lot of keywors... more than 25

Hi!
There was discussion in some forum and we were warned that number of keywords should be less than 25. It was a very hard work, but practically I fixed most of clips (still some 400 clips to be checked).

I think I've asked a few times... Is there a way to find clips with more than 25 keywords? Otherwise, checking over 3600 clips may be just way too much work to bother.

Thanks for the reply, Zygis. I'll check out some other clips and see what they did.

Ok, I did some keyword search tests, and it looks like one form of each keyword is all you need. If you search for "running" or "runs", clips will show in the results even if the only keyword they used is "run".
However, "runner" was different enough that it didn't yield the same search results.

Marcus had posted that the keyword ranking wasn't yet implemented, so if your clip has more than 25 it''s not affected yet... But it WILL be when the code does go live (he promised to give us a heads up before hand).

i only just found out about this 25 word limit. yikes.
with 350+ of clips already keyworded with approx. 50 words per clip, its going to be a drag to have to adjust my entire portfolio.
i'm all for setting limits, and I am totally against keyword spamming, but 25 is not a lot of words...on 2 other sites i upload to, the limit is 50. on another it is unlimited.
can we not set the limit to 50 words here at Pond5 also?

Agree with Orbit. It isn't fair to punish those who have higher # of keywords. I know it is to fight spam and keep people choosing the most important keywords...
If they do implement it then they should also implement a column in the uploads page that is for keyword #, then we can arrange by that and remove/add to stay around 25.
