I completed a green screen test today. I'm learning After Effects so it was trial and error.
Let me know if I'm on the right track.

By the way, this was my first video on vimeo so if it doesn't work, let me know that too.
Thanks,
Jake

Jake there's nothing from the shoulders down. I think you should stop while you're a head,

AMAZING! Great video Jake. Please send a picture of your setup! I want to get into green screen very badly, and this is exactly the type of video I want :-).

Outstanding, very professional, forget the animation guys, your video and After Affect skills is beyond expert. Delores looks impatient, were you late on picking her up for your date again?

Nice work, I don't deal with green screen, but alpha channels and after effects if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I couldn't tell an alpha channel from a beta channel, but I do understand that green is a color ;)

Thanks guys.
I uploaded another video of the orginal untouched footage. You can see most of my lighting setup.
I put a small sheet of plywood under the screen where Delores is standing so her heels wouldn't sink into the carpet and get hidden.
original footage
There were still some shadows on the green screen that AF took out but I've added a few lights to get rid of that for the shoot today.
I watched this video on adobe's website for some help.
http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/video_workshop/?id=vid0229
And Andrew Kramer's tutorial
http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/basic_color_keying/
and this one.
http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorial/advanced_car_hit/
Also, here is a screen shot of my AF while I was working on it.
I used the pen tool to draw a matt around Delores as Kramer describes.

Cool, what do you do when you need to use the livingroom ;). Where did ya get the green screen from?

That is really good jake, but I do see an improvement you can make. If you look closely on her leg you can see some of the green light reflecting on her. Also her hair looks a little green from the ambient green light. ANYway the way to fix that is to go in after effects, click color correction, hue and saturation. Then switch from the master channel to the green channel. (only green colors) and decrease the saturation all the way to -100. This sucks all the ambient green color out of the video. Heres what it should look like in the effects panel. :

Its not a big deal but I can tell you used a greenscreen :P :)
