The Most Boring Job as a Stock Visual Artist

KEYWORDING!!!

Is the most boring, killing job I have to do as a stock visual artist. This job should be done by pros, who really love and like to do it and have English as mother language.

Have you tried the Yuri Arcurs keywording tool? Really fast, easy to use and good keywords. AND proper English :)

I have not tried Yuri Arcurs keywording tool yet but I will the next time. The process in itself is my problem. Even when using a keyword tool, one has to find a starting word. Thank you for the suggestions.

I'll second the Yuri Arcurs tool. It is very helpful... but if you have something unique you'll be on your own.

Although I agree that is is a HUGE pain, it is worth the time and effort. I rarely use templates to ensure that my clips are as accurate as possible. How people with thousands of clips in their libraries do it I'll never know. I'm just approaching 300 :)

Lots of time invested in keywording.

Can you hire someone to do the dirty job?
Can you marry someone to do the job?

Ya let's all use it, then we will all have similar keywords, nothing to standout and we'll all be buried in the millions of other footage ;)

I only shoot stock footage to have the opportunity to add keywords.

I just come up with lists of keywords and then shoot stock footage to match.

Funny guys...

I got lazy, so I only shoot when the keywords cross my mind's eye, sometimes like a ticker banner, sometimes like a tag cloud... otherwise, why bother shooting?
