KEY WORDS FORMAT

I have used several web sites that ask for key words.
OK,,,, Can anyone here suggest the correct Format for listing KEY WORDS?
Key Word comma then word ?
Key Word comma then space ?
Also Phrases Format ?
Or does it really matter ?

space between words and "xxx" around phrases. make sure keyword are very valid for footage ... don't reach too far just to have words. Limit the number of keywords to a maximum of 25.

Recently had a remark from Marcus stating that this " XXX" is not yet applicable ? But may be in the future !

i'm having a challenge getting phrases into my keywords. I input my words separated by commas (as I've always done - no problem there)..but as soon as I try and input a phrase (by, surrounding, "two words", like, this) it screws up. my keywords then appear as - by, surrounding, "two, words", like, this

is there a solution to make phrases for "comma, keyworders" ?

Some sites require commas, some require no commas, it's hard for a producer who submits to multiple sites because of this.

I tend to always put commas in no matter where I submit. Here on Pond5, it looks like the commas get stripped-out when you submit.

Yep they do get stripped out.

Just can't figure out how to use commas AND make phrases. marcus - can you help?

Compound terms should be seperated with "quotation marks". Other keywords can be separated with spaces and/or commas.

Thanks for the response - but it doesn't work. For instance I just uploaded an image of a boat with reflections on the water. My keywords were comma separated and I added the phrase "mirror image" to the words. (like this... boat, water, "mirror image", bow etc.) but...

when i hit submit and look at the keywords the two-word phrase gets "chopped" into two words ( with one set of quotation marks next to each one!)..like this:

boat, water, "mirror, image", bow

Hey there. I just took a look at clip # 350168 if that is the one you are talking about, and it seems OK to me -- "mirror image" is in quotes, and other terms are separated.

Note that the search functionality itself currently is not sensitive to compound terms, but we're planning on implementing that asap, so it's good to have this data properly stored in the database.

Yep you're right #350168 is the clip in question, and it is OK now, because I've "fixed it".

Essentially because of this "bug" i'm experiencing i have go through a few steps to add phrases to my keywords:

1. enter comma separated keywords
2. hit 'submit'.
3. go back to the file and add phrases in quotes.
4. click 'submit'.

I'll keyword another file this afternoon with a phrase, without 'fixing' it, so you can see what i mean.
