Doritos commercial

This is our entry for the Crash the bowl Doritos contest.

I shot the video. The editing and story was a friend of mine.

The large guy is going for the world deadlift title. Something like 800 pounds I think.
After seeing him in action I think he has a chance at that.

I made this last year (this is the test footage for the actual entry) Unfortunately I will not be entering this year since a friend clued me in, that the whole contest is fixed and a marketing scam, with the ad agency itself wins.

Yeah I heard that rumor too.
But I don't buy it. If you look at the past years winners and runner ups, they are just normal people shooting these things.


When other people tell me that story I ask them the same thing:
Proof of the scam?
Where did you read it? Was it a reputable website or news agency?

In every case, the answer is "I saw it on Facebook"
Unhuh, that's a credible source.

At any rate, this is the last year Doritos is doing it.

This was told to me by someone who knows someone within the ad agency. They have their own people making commercials which then goes back into the company. Just repeating what he told me.

Ok, I'm not disputing the rumor or what you heard but "someone that knows someone" ?
Couldn't be a disgruntled employee?
See what I mean about how rumors get spread.

Unless there is concrete evidence, it didn't happen is my point of view.

But I really don't care one way or another. It was fun to do a great exercise in shooting.

I agree that win or lose, it's great fun and experience to make one of these commercials. That is the only reason I did not create one this year. Your entry looks great, and I hope you do well with it, best of luck!!
