What does Pond5 mean?

I've been using it and selling my clips but I don't know why its called Pond5, I imagine you all know and I don't.
Is it cause you can dip into it?

Ever since I joined the Pond5 I always thought the same but never dared to ask. Good question!

Simple answer - it is a two syllable name easy to remember. Think about Google, Yahoo, Facebook, YouTube - they are all two syllable names. A study was done many years ago about this and it has proven to work as one can see. Of course Microsoft never figured it out. They have three syllables or one - SilverLight, Microsoft - Bing.
