Hello everyone,
I'm fairly new to the whole video stock footage thing - but really, really liking it!
I'm wondering if anyone has any smart tips to make the whole process of posting video online more efficient (ie. faster!)
I'm thinking of Keywording or Cataloging tools (if they exist) or cool ways to batch process files etc.
Any thoughts are much appreciated!!

Welcome to P5. We have a good time here and sell some cool videos too!
I use a word document to keep track of my videos with description and keywords for each.
But I did start testing this program that seems to do a good job of keeping track of your videos and some very basic editing.
Here is a link to the thread:

You can download a trial version but the basic program is only $89.00 so not that bad if you find it does what you want.
I really wish there was a way to embed keywords in videos like still photos. Kind of a metadata thing but from what I hear its not possible.

From what I've heard Foottrack is a great program but it's only for the Mac. :-(

I use a spread sheet, planning to write a keyword proggy, but more motivated to shoot instead of working with code.

When posting to Pond5, I find the templates extremely valuable as a time saver. It enables me to avoid entering duplicate information, and the templates are easily created and edited. I have a template for each of the models in my collection, and a generic one.

Cool thing is after you are done, you can download the CSV of all your data here at P5. Just my 10 cents.

You should be able to upload a csv. to pouplate the required fields in the untagged clip despritions. It's much easier to edit these things in excel, so I can copy and paste without waiting for a page to refresh. It really would not be that hard to do.
