Thanks kk5hy, and for the Atomos, well, I sent it back and bought the PIX220. They both have pros/cons....clip quality is the same, Atomos is lighter, better on batteries, PIX is heavier, but better build quality, has phantom powered XLR inputs, etc.
HDMI is the WORST, in either case, for someone who might bump a cable. Believe it. The WORST.
But this is a clip thread, not tech discussion..sorry. Here's a clip shot with Sony HVR-Z5U PIX220 DNxHD145:

Shot at 12,500 ISO. I did use some noise reduction in the clip for sale but I have the original clip on my YouTube channel which shows that there is still very little noise from camera.

"I'm not a doctor, but I play one on stock footage..."
and a carpenter, and a foreman, and a businessman, and a preacher, and an FBI agent, ...
You know what would make that shot better? Slow motion. It's all the rage these days.

Are you seeing a big difference from your usual magnificent work? I suspect it might be in the rendering of the shadow/gradients....I never did like the T2i's look, but I haven't messed with the 5d mkll yet, either....I hope you're digging your new gear!
Nice work....looking good!

This clip now that I'm seeing it online I'm not digging it so I will delete it.
Something with the photojpg I guess.
Anyway, I absolutely love this camera. Even in this low light clip I can see all the detail in the shadows behind the computer monitor in the foreground and behind my head.
For more well lit shots the color and sharpness is unbelievable.
The only I've used my 5d is to take behind the scenes photos. But I'll still use it as a second camera.

Curious about that, Jake....you're deleting a clip because of the preview quality? I ask this because I have noticed that many of my own clips that have lots of detail/high bandwidth seem to take a quality hit in the previews compared to those that fall well within the range of "normal".
These were shot with the Z5u/PIX220 DNxHD145:

No, not because of the preview, just in general.
Delores and I are our worst critics and probably delete more than we upload.
