Searching by price -low/high limit- ,on associated footage 4K + HD

gcrook 11 May 2015 14:32
Yup.Lowest price in invisible regardless of what aspect ration framerate and resolution you choose.
This is deliberate by all accounts.

Maybe it's really better to start again uploading HD + 4k and ask for the association. As it seems Pond5 doesn't matter about bugs and seller's success. Or is there any other reason why reported problems don't change for months?

I was told they were gonna start beta testing updates before they went live... Appears I was told wrong (don't want to use the word lie, but ...)

Beckhusen, associated files behave the same way.Only the price of the higher resolution file counts in the search by price.
The only way left for me as i see it is to upload all resolutions yourself and not associate anything, and just ignore the existence of the downconverted file completely hoping people will find the standalone hd in the search.

This was a bug long before the auto downsizing with associated files. I contacted support about it a few times a year or so ago about the old manual linked files doing this (or not doing this). So they have been aware of it for at least a year.

Also, the number of sales of a clip that the search engine recognises appears to be only the number of the "main" clip (at least for associated files). If you do a search based on clips with Salegt:0, ones that have sold at the lower resolutions don't show. I know buyers wouldn't be searching for Salegt:0, but I would be pretty confident that the number of sales of a clip would factor highly in any search algorithm.

It is apparent that associated clips have less chance of selling in complex searches with price limit.
That applies to both manual associated and auto-downconverted clips.

If they have been aware of it for so long then they do it on purpose so people lower their 4k prices towards hd for more chances to get views and sales, thats not a bug.

Thankfully noone forbids us (YET) to upload multiple resolutions of the same clip.

Ruchos: i did a test with some clips of mine and the search for sales doesn't work at all, only god knows how clips are ranked, you can find clips with several sales in the fifth page and clips with one sale at the top of the first page...this is another issue...
stefhoffer 19 May 2015 10:37
It hasn't been fixed yet unfortunately. I will contact support to see if they're working on this particular issue.
sebolla74 19 May 2015 13:43
It makes 4k uploading a waste of time since it reduces the chance to sell hd version which is still the best seller...
i'm thinking of quit 4k uploading till this issue has been solved....

P5 gave you a chance to reduce 4K price to 75% (or like mine, same price) for HD which is a very good price. Why not just relax and wait for the result? When there is no buyer buy yours, too bad, move on to SS, anytime you can do that. IMO
