Everyone has been clamoring for Canon to stick a 35mm lens adapter on a camcorder body to finally marry the two... Wouldn't it be funny if Nikon fought back by being the first to come out with such a product?

Canon are about to launch a plug in for Final Cut, to convert (transcode) their files into pro res 4.2.2 in half the time than the Apple conversion. Making it simpler for people to work with h.264 Canon files.
Nikon has been totally upstaged since the digital revolution started and Canon designed and built their own sensors, while Nikon bought Sony sensors and spent all their energy designing software to reduce the noise on these sensors.
Nikon only want to produce photojournalism cameras and point and shoot's.

Yes, Canon is going to rule the video world.
I think it will very soon they will have a DLSR sensor in a full camcorder body.
It may be $10,000 (or more) but worth it.

Just bought the 7D 2 months ago, but wasn't as expensive as the US cost.
Set me back ￥120,000 for body.
Strange as it seems this Rebel is called, EOS Kiss X4発表 here,
but with the Rebel T2i badge, same specs I believe and Costs

I have no regrets on buying the 7D, for a stock photographer and stockvideo shooter it is a great all in one package. The T2i (550) has pushed me towards dumping my Nikon D300 system and go fully Canon, with the 7D and possibly a full frame Canon next generation.

Nice colors, but a lot of noise in the dark areas.
