Jesus, Pond5 has sh!t the bed at every turn this year. What a terrible short-sighted move, once again shamefully tacked on to a bs “exciting news” announcement. No more audio from me, that’s for sure, and most likely gonna remove my existing tracks.
New Pond5 decision makers, you are ruining everything good about Pond5. What horribly insulting and idiotic change, that only benefits your short-sighted bottom line and further destroys your reputation is next?

I just increased all my prices to make up for the difference, but considering how little sales I get, I doubt I'll be posting anymore music here.

My first instinct is to raise my prices at least 30%

You need to increase your price at least %50 to justify pond5's massive %65 as you don't get half of your increased price anymore, pond5 also get another %65 from your increased price. Low sales will be the bonus. İt's all over, nothing much to do here.

We can fully expect that with the massive price raising everyone is going to do, the next email we receive will go something like "We have decided that in order to deal with the extremely competitive landscape we need to cap maximum prices for audio at 25$".

maybe this is the point. seems like everyone is complaining about low sales. Perhaps pond5 five is not selling a lot of music period.

@StevenOBrien - right!!! We are so lucky to be on the floor of this ground-breaking initiative!!
In case you are like me and you're considering pulling content, before you do, you may want to go to your Upload page(s), click on the Sales Data tab and start saving all that data. I feel like it's going to be helpful as I start contemplating how to move forward.
@TapTapMusic - honestly, if low sales are the problem here, this is a terrible approach. It won't be effective at increasing sales and it's already pissing off contributors.

Oh, I agree. I think they are trying to shore up losses. Notice there is no exclusive option.

Finally, it's happened. Greed is good, eh? :)
After writing this post I'm gonna remove my catalogue from here (150+ titles or so).
House' rules - take it or leave it.
Was nice time together since 2009, sad it ended like this.
And to those who don't clearly understand - they just decreased our cut 'just because'!
Such a terrible assault cannot be left unanswered!
Please, do remove your catalogue from this company - they don't deserve to be supplied anymore.
