So the dataset revenues are for music as well as graphics?

My data or files were also used, I work with audio, I have about 500 items registered, earnings reported under "dataset earnings" = $50.00.
I believe other producers' archives were also used, but some people don't like to participate in discussion forums.
As I understand it, Shutterstock made an announcement to its contributors (about using data for use in AI learning) in July 2021. In May 2022, Shutterstock acquired control of Pond5, but I don't recall receiving no warning that my data could be used for AI training.
I think these things could be treated more clearly, I don't know what the gain percentage is, I don't know how many files were used... All my songs are registered in PRO, I don't know how it will work in the future...

Did anyone notice it no longer shows word data set earnings... It now says "additional revenue earning?" I guess there could be some legal implications about selling assets for AI learning without authorization from contributors. I read an article about German stock photographer who tried to get his photograph removed from the AI training LAION dataset. His request was met with a refusal from AI data set owner and not only that he also received an invoice of $979. This is crazy and we got to protect our assets from misuse and potential loss of earning to us.I wish I had saved the link of the article but probably if you google it you may find this...

Here is the link to the article
https://petapixel.com/2023/04/26/ai-image-dataset-demands-money-from-photographer-who-requested-removal-of-his-photos/
You can use this link to see if your images have been used to train AI generators. https://haveibeentrained.com/?custom=1
use the keywords you use with your photos and it will pull up the images which are being used for training AI.

The Genie is out of the bottle now, so really too late to do anything or worry. Guarantee our footage and images all have been AI'd. So enjoy the marginal payments. Might as well enjoy any AI dataset payments since we have all been fully AI'd. Too late to do anything.
"Shutterstock made AI-training deals with everyone, apparently. The stock image company has had deals to let OpenAI, Meta, Google, and Amazon train on its images, Reuters wrote yesterday while reporting that Apple got in on the action.
Each of the deals reportedly initially ranged from $25 million to $50 million, but Shutterstock’s CEO, Jarrod Yahes, told the outlet most companies expanded them late"
So we got pennies. the agencies got tens or hundreds of millions of dollars. Now our work is in AI so can be used, manipulated and commercially used, uncontrolled usage and we get nothing moving forward.
I have seen in another industry that I work in, Laser engraving, that many use AI for all their graphics. They pay absolutely nothing to get their AI generated art from us.

It's not just even peanuts anymore. Last year I received $120 as dataset earnings for my music and sounds, right now... 21 bloody cents.
You used the correct word: genie, that's what AI is, not a tool, a genie without the proverbial limit of only 3 wishes: do this - boom! - it's done.
A wet dream from the consumer/business owner's point of view... until it bites them back. It can surely be fun in many areas, don't get me wrong but it has bitter consequences.
Things will have to get much much much worse to even only begin to think about them getting any better... if ever

I had to post something here to get this thread above the gibberish of the first threads
Yeah, Dataset is robbing all of us of our work, no matter how the AI companies want to gloss it over
But it's a new day, time for us to re-invent our creative lives
