Favorite Time Lapse

I think what makes this special for me is the woman in the skirt with dance steps who shows up midway through. Her relative stillness makes the rest more frenetic.

Time Lapser's ... Can we get an idea of what equipment is suggested for a beginner ?
Or is this only fanatical Time Lapse :)
I recently purchased what I believe is strictly for Beginners. But am having a bit of a problem assigning Set Up Time Frames such as 1 sec, 2sec 3sec 5sec etc and then not understanding what I need in total photography video time, to minimize the overall lapse video to a
1 to 3 minutes maximum Time Lapse Video for use here on Pond 5 ?
Can any one assist a beginner ?

Use a camera. Not to be glib, but either a regular video camera, if you like the possibility of real-time grabs, or use a DSLR which gives you the ability to span greater lengths of time by using individual frames. I prefer using real-time captures and doing the temporal compression in post (I use Vegas Pro). You don't have to worry about flicker, and for instance, from what I shot to make this clip, I got about 10 clips total....more if I want.

Totally understand GLIB :) No problem.
I also understand camera, not the other requirements :)
What I need to hear is the "process" of the creation.
Equipment etc, beyond the camera!
The dark and grand secrets of creation !
