It seems the Mavic is quite far behind the P4 and the GoPro unfortunately... If someone could just get everything right. The Karma's battery life and range are not good enough, 1 km maximum on paper, that is not too good... But IQ is better.

Seems Casey is still not using the Mavic correctly. He just tweeted this out:
"Mavic Drone Update; apparently the focus works differently on the Mavic. I played with it and I was able to get much much sharper images."
So still on the fence about it. Maybe it will never be as sharp as the P4 but I'll have to wait for more real world tests from actual users.

...... wait for the first Karma and Mavic crash to see which one has the better structural built quality. Casey breaks everything so he is the best man for crash, bend, drop test, acid rain testing. LoL

Yup, still so much speculation and reviews although some are unbiased are still with loaners directly from the manufacturers so there is still a lot of loyalty showing. In large part it will always be a which truck is best; Ford or Chevy (Dodge isn't a real player LOL), or which pro level camera Canon or Nikon (Panasonic isn't a real player LOL). No mater what the product, loyalties will almost always out trump which is technically the best.

A DJI guy said that the difference is only the lens. The sensor and electronics was the same.

If the quality is as in Casey's comparison video, I will not buy a Mavic. If it turns out it can have comparable detail to the P3P/P4, it's a no-brainer. Leaves the Karma far behind if that's the case.
