Dynamic RAM Preview a Nonentity?

Probably some of my own idiocy, but as far as I can see this ain't working. Using RAW files from a T2i, imported as time lapse sequence, all is well. But, there are bugs. Skeeters. I need to advance frame by frame to find them accurately, but it takes 5 seconds to render each frame. Sometimes bugs are only apparent through motion, so just sitting and waiting for 5 seconds x 400 frames is not good enough.

So I was thinking I will create a RAM preview - at least I think that's what I asked. I can get it to the point where I can preview the entire sequence , working in 8 bit mode, (I render in 32), high quality preview (else I can't see some of the issues anyway) but when I find one, I clone it out, usually using a -1 frame offset, and BOOM, my entire preview is gone.

Sorry, but WTF? Should it not keep everything except having to rerender the one frame I just worked on?

Thanks for any help.

I can help you with this Wednesday. If you haven't heard from me in the morning send me a message. I've worked through and figured out some solutions.

Thanks Brother, I'm going nuts over here.... thought I had a decent computer, maybe I've expected too much or mucked up the setup or my workflow sux, or all three. I'd appreciate it!

Ram preview does require it to recreate if any changes are made. Here's what I do. If I have a sequence that has some 'visual bugs" in it that are difficult to see frame by frame, I simply render the whole thing out to some file in say reg HD mp4 or whatever. I then bring in the rendered file and layer it over the original. Now the preview should be almost real time just by sliding the cursor over the temporary preview file just created. Once I see the "visual disturbance" in this file while scrubbing, I can mark where it is, then simply "turn off" this layer and get to work on fixing the issue. If it calls for deleting a frame or frames at random places, I start working from right to left as this will keep the markers in line for me and not slip frames out from under me.
