Surfing Pond5

Well AI is a marvel of the future. Now those AI people were they more like AC? As in Artificial Conscience? Or sorta self aware? But lets imagine an alien with an eye that is wrapped around its "body" in the shape of a band or strip. How would such a creature perceive visual and/or auditory archives from Pond5?

Sorry to delay response on this "out there" topic....I was dealing with computer/internet chaos bubbles myself.

Eye-wrapped body? Body as transport for a being with vision as its primary sense? Is it the future of man as stereo video evolves like stereo audio did, from one, to two streams, then to 7.1, and more....will we adapt to our reality-replacement devices?

Consider if you will the outlook of evolved natural or artificial consciousness based on fractal sets. Your affinity for such may make you an appropriate envoy, the gulf of time between now and the hazy future notwithstanding.

Also wonder how such a creature, assuming it's able to see, hear, and interpret the data contained herein, should it also understand the descriptions and keywords? If it did, would it be able to discern between the correct keywords and those that were, well, not-so-correct?

I suspect some of the reconstruction might be affected in weird ways as result.

I can imagine having my consciousness pop into existence in the future, in some sort of bizarre zoo, if you will, and trying to express to my keeper how they got it wrong...might be kinda like talking to Dell Financial....

I wasn't laughing either, but after the dust settled, my boot prints indicated a decisive forever-walking away, not looking back, and discovering Puget Systems....

Yes, the alien talk is probably done for now.....but I gotta say, it sure is fun surfing Pond 5....when I get my new machine, I will be getting back into being productive, but until then, I'll be limping this one along and rallying my forces with research and inspiration.

I'm checking out that web site now. I've been a long time customer of http://www.ginstar.com/ since 1994 with nothing to complain about. All my core machines were bought there. Accessories I often go to Fry's or Best Buy.

I'd love to hear you opinion, and will check out the other you mentioned. I have not yet bitten any bullets, but I am real close.

I'm most intrigued by the clean installs, lifetime service, and total customizability, among other things.

I am not rich by any stretch, so for my editing machine I can make no mistakes, and go for reliability and future-proofing, as much as possible. I have a pretty good screamer set up, which will be light-years better than the old mare I'm working on now.

Well I have to admit the Puget Systems computers offer more choices for customization for their PCs versus the ones I can get at Ginstar. However their prices are way above what I am comfortable paying and they seem to use Intel CPUs more than AMD CPUs (I'm all for AMD, Western Digital drives, & Nvidia CUDA video cards). it sure would be cool to have an Opteron system :)
