I got a request from a clearance coordinator on a Netflix show, tu use one of my video clips on their
show.
I answered,: if they buy this clip at pond5, i grant them permission tu use that clip.
Then they answered:
Is there any way you would be willing to license the video to use separately from Pond5?
We aren't able to sign a contract with them.
What can i do?

Ask them to send you their contract and see if you can agree??? Don't take any risk by signing anything the offer you. Do consult with P5, they know better than you.
Of course you can sell your footage to them, you are not exclusive to P5. But don't take any risk by signing anything which can hurt you---legal case.

What clip? Is it editorial? They want it for the same money as Pond5 or willing to pay more?

Yes, if they offer you more money and the terms are OK, then you can consider to sell , but careful. There is no free-lunch...

why would you want to insist they buy a $50 clip through p5? maybe they were willing to pay much much more....

That's why it depends on the clip.
If its an editorial clip usually they want you to take the hit if someone sues. That isn't worth any amount of money over a $50 clip.

Even though they pay you double and you have to take the "legal risk", then forget it. It is NOT worth it at all. Full Stop...

Maybe nice to answer our questions when we will help ;)
I would ask them why they "aren't able to sign a contract with them" !

Is this animal shot in a Zoo, then you have no property release of this animal. Don't sign the contract. Too dangerous..
