What happened to the Search Engine (Audio) ???

I usually keep tabs on how my tracks are showing up in search, and just now I noticed the whole thing is different. I don't recognize ANY of the tracks in the "Best Match" category. I see a lot for chezgroove and megamusic which I've never heard of until now. None of my tracks are visible anywhere. I had several that were in the first row or two under tags like "uplifting" and "emotional".

Seems P5 has messed with the algorithms and a lot of irrelevant and older sounding tracks are showing up instead!

Anyone else, or is it just me? Check your stuff and let me know!

Just did some experimenting. It seems like it's an issue with Chrome. Search is fine with Firefox. Can other Chrome users do the following test:

Search the tag "uplifting" using Best Match and see if the first 3 results are : Summer Chill, Uplifting Background by Twisterium, and Inspirational Uplifting Background?

Anyone? Admin? I hear crickets guys...

Looks good to me. Just because your tracks don't show out of 135,000 results doesn't mean the results are irrelevant...

Anyway, your track shows up as #3 when I search for "uplifting" in Safari so you should be fine. :)

Hi AWorldinMotion, it wasn't just about my tracks but also many other authors whose tracks I've sorta kept tabs on for a while now. It's always been consistent until recently. It's just weird that the search rankings are different across browsers. So, Jonathan, if you're reading this...would you mind having the technical guys look into it?

The results currently showing on Chrome for popular tags like motivational, corporate, etc are NOT a very good representation of what Pond5 has to offer. These actually sound like the most dated and irrelevant results, and that's not good for any of us if clients are having this experience!

I'm surprised nobody else has noticed this yet.

I noticed this too, I've had a couple of tracks that were the first places in a few categories, and now they have dropped to 3rd and fourth lines, and some even at the bottom of the page.
For me it's the same in every browser. I tried using a couple of proxies as well, and I found that you get different results depending on the region, so for Europe, US, Asia, etc you get different results for the same search terms.

I guess they just updated the search algorithm or made some kind of rotation to keep things fresh.

I'm all for updating things and keeping it fresh. But the results i'm getting sound like production music from 10 years ago. Definitely not fresh...wish I could replicate the results for you, but like you said, perhaps this has something to do with location. At any rate, it's probably in everyone's best interest if someone looked into this. The same 3 authors are basically in the first 3-4 lines under similar tags...which is not keeping things fresh at all. Good for them, bad for you, me and everyone else here.

I just posted a similar post in the Comments and Suggestions forum. Only my 7-8 year old footage is being displayed. It looks like search algorithm has been changed, and messed up.

It seems this glitch has now been addressed (Thanks Jonathan if that was you!) All looks normal again on Chrome. EdgeofReason, keep an eye on it in the footage platform though as they might not be aware of it yet.
