Tools to improve WorkFlow - help with keywording etc...

This is already possible. If you go to Preferences, activate experimental stuff and then go to Uploads, there should be two CSV tabs at the top of the page.

There is a tab to apply, but how do I know the data is being applied to the right clips? It does not seem to give me a csv of untagged data to base the new csv file on. In other words if I could see the file names and id numbers, and the rest of the values were set to zero I would know where my data is going. Is the upload just based on the oreder the clips appear on the page? and does the csv I upload need to follow the same format as the one i download. Can I leave cells blank in the upload file, and fill them in on a per clip basis?

You have to have column OriginalFilename or Clipid (case does not matter) set so it could figure out where to apply the data. On the uploads page you can just click on the original filename to change it, if that should be neended.

The other columns apart from OriginalFilename or Clipid are all optional. If you're using a big reference sheet in Open Office with all your clips. An example usage:
a) Mark one key column (say OriginalFilename) and the columns you want to add (by holding down control and clicking on them).
b) Copy the selected set
c) Go to a new sheet and paste it.
d) File/Save as
Type: CSV
Name: a.csv
Encoding: UTF-8
e) Go to the Apply CSV page and apply the file you saved.

Blank cells are (should be) ignored.

One of the reasons for this form still being in experimental state is that the page looks horrible and it isn't obvious what to do with it.

I have a spreadsheet from another sight that already has all my data. I am going to have to write a little code with mutilple worksheets so I can populate 2 CSVs for both sites at once. Anything to save time with keywording!!!!!

Yeah Marcus that system definitely needs tweaking.

Might I suggest you make a downloadable CSV, that has the clipid and file name for untagged clips, as a start point to edit your material, with the copying and pasting from the page, the cells end up all wacky.

Jake..There is a way to embed metadata into movie files. Open a movie in Quicktime Pro and show movie properties.

You can the fill out IPTC fields such author, copyright, etc

last I checked none of the sites can use the IPTC in video to populate information

I didn't know you could embed keywords in the video but as Don said, the problem is sites won't extract it.
That's what would be very cool.
