How Selling Works

Before you get started with uploading, please review Preparing Media For Upload to ensure your files meet the requirements. Also, be sure to browse our Seller FAQ to see our most common questions.

There are two simple methods you can use to upload your work: using the on-site HTML5 Uploader or via an FTP provider.

Please note: uploading several similar files is not only discouraged but can also lead to longer wait times for file review. Please refrain from uploading hundreds of similar files, and reduce them to the most visually appealing shots. If we find this is happening, we will contact you with a warning. If the issue persists, Pond5 reserves the right to remove your account.

Once your uploads are accepted through our preprocessing system, your media will be in your Uploads page and have a needs edits status.

You will need to go through and add keywords, a description, camera information, prices, etc. To do this, click your file, edit, then save and submit for review.

Note: Your files will stay in the need edits status until you submit them for review by clicking save and submit for review.

Wait times for review can vary from week to week, depending on the number of submissions and other external factors, such as bank holidays. File review is outside the Customer Support department's control, and we appreciate your patience with the review process.

Please note that even if you have files pending review, you are still encouraged to upload more files; there is no need to wait for the first batch to be reviewed.

Once your uploads are reviewed and accepted, you will then see them for sale on Pond5.com, after a short indexing time. You will be notified of the decision by email and via our messaging system.

When you get a sale, we will also notify you via email. Once your balance reaches the payout limit, we will transfer the balance to the payout method of your choice. Please note that our payouts are processed once a month, on the 15th (in Eastern Standard Time).
