The name Kentucky Jim came from my old friend and band mate, Charlie Chesterman. He dubbed me āKentucky Jim Farisā in a surprise liner note, and the name stuck. Iām originally from Sugartit, Kentucky (yes,it's a realplace). I hit the road with a band and lived in a van for a while before spending two decades in Bostonās vibrant music scene.
