Hint: Cordless drill trigger connected to your gearmotor will give you speed control and direction switching.

Making the string a loop going around idler pulleys at each end will give you two directions without re-rigging.

Sure, it's not my last wisdom and will be improved step by step.
In the moment it's more the fun to do it maximum cheap.

Last not least when i see that i will use it more often so or so i must buy a professional system,
because for photo-timelapse this motorisation isn't sensefull when the move doesn't stop for the exposure.
My next step is to proper fix the motor and battery holder, .... and a on/off switch ;)

If you wanted to make your time lapse version you could use a microcontroller like raspberry pi or arduino. Not sure how far down this rabbit hole you want to go :-)
