GoPro 4 to have manual controls :-)

Won't miss my GoPro on tours, even because it's the perfect cam for selfies ;)
As i understand right the GoPro 4 comes in 2 versions and all previous accessoires from Hero 3+ have backward compatibility?
That means i can use my additional LCD display from Hero 3+ also on Hero 4 Black?

I agree with RekindlePhoto. I doubt 4k is that great but can you extract a better quality HD format from the 4K than you can shoot HD directly? 1080 120p would be pretty cool for some things.

But no info on 4k bitrate.

Interested in the 2.7k 50 as well as the 4k 30. And I've held off replacing my Hero3+ thinking I'd like to check out the Hero4 if it comes, and it's coming soon. But I'm ordering through B&H so I have a no-BS returnability if the thing falls flat. Shooting with the Hero3 lately because that's what I have, and I really wish it was at least the Hero3+, especially for less distortion and highlight control. Losing highlights in "normal" daylight really sucks. Between the Hero3 and Hero3+ GoPro proved they were listening, and I've got my fingers crossed that this new one is not a POS.

@ Beckhusen the hero 4 black has its own monitor.

The hero 4 can shoot 1080/720 at 120fps even though the chip could handle 240fps the sensor couldn't.

Jason: Check it: Silver has the monitor, but no 4K 30fps. Black has no monitor, but is the only one with 30fps 4K.

You're right Gene the silver has the touch screen. But since neither the black nor silver can shoot at 240fps I think I'll wait to see if anyone drops the price of the black 3+

It's kind of a weird tradeoff, isn't it? And I'll bet the battery dies after 20 minutes either way, probably worse shooting 4K with a monitor, which maybe is why.

Yep, I'd still buy a 3+ Black if I got a great deal. Did some more shooting with 3 Black today and it makes me sad.

The Black can use the attachable monitor for extra $80.

And as i read and understand all equipment from 3+ is also working at 4 Black :)
I shoot always with the 3+ with LCD monitor, won't miss it.
Buying a 3+ when the 4 Black is available makes no sense! Shooting 4k with 15 frames with 3+ is in most cases senseless, except timelapses or a few other projects. More about this the color of 3+ 4k clips is terrible and offers much work in post-processing for a nearly (but still not perfect) natural look.
